Moss is a problem. We are the solution.
For the last three years we helped develop one of the other roof cleaning companies in the Lower Mainland, West Coast Moss Removal. During this time we were the only employees and completed all of the jobs that the company did during that period, as well as all of the day-to-day field work. Prior to that we ran a smaller exterior maintenance company. During our time at West Coast Moss Removal and the exterior maintenance work, we personally cleaned nearly 1,000 roofs. We decided that it was time for us to start fresh in order to focus on putting the customer first and make safety a priority. We love our clients & pride ourselves in taking care of their homes as if they were our own. We also utilize specialty fall-restricting devices, climbing ropes, and a host of other personal safety devices to keep us safe & give our customers the peace of mind that we won't be working unsafely (for your convenience & affirmation, here is our WorkSafeBC Clearance Letter).
We may be a newer company, but after personally cleaning over one thousand roofs over the last four years, you can be assured that we are by no means new to the industry and are best suited for all your roof cleaning and exterior cleaning needs in the Metro Vancouver area.
Why Should Your Roof Be Cleaned?
Moss, algae, and lichens can cause damage to your roof and many homeowners find that it also looks bad! If left untreated, moss can shave years off of the life of your roof. Moss tends to spread rapidly, especially with the climate of Vancouver, BC's Lower Mainland, and the Pacific Northwest in general. Root systems grow between, underneath, and into the surface of your roof's shingles and tiles, creating the potential to expose your roof, as well as trap water and excess heat. In addition, algae bacteria noticeably stains many roofs, leaving large, ugly dark streaks. As the bacteria seeks food, it will feast on limestone filler in the shingles. Lichens are another organism that will end up removing the protective layers of shingles and tiles. All of these can lead to an unattractive look and even an early roof replacement!
